Crancruciate Ligament rupture in Rottweilers 7 Months, 1 Week ago
Hey, rottie friends,

I m very pleased that I can inform you about upcoming article.

I asked a specialist vet from Belgium, Mr Koen Vandendriessche( www.causus.be /Causus Clinic Oudenburg) to write for TTRM about Crancruciate Ligament Ruptures in Rottweilers.
Even if he has a very very busy vet practice together with seminars all over the world(just back from Italy) he started working this topic out.
It will be illustrated with photos.

I m going to give him the link to this forum/and ask him to log in so that people can ask questions about this interesting topic after reading his article in the next edition(outcome end april/begin may)

I hope he can find the time to give you answers on your possible questions that time.
I keep an eye on it!

I think its a problem we hear so many times in our breed.

Kathleen.

Hello,

I m really happy that Dr. Vandendriessche could make it before deadline to send his materialin, only waiting now on the pics to illustrate his text.

Dr. Vandendriessche is one of the most famous veterinarians in Belgium with a great team working in Oudenaarde, causus clinic.
www.causus.be

Since the rottweiler is the most common breed to have problems with Ligament Ruptures its important topic to publish IMO and I couldn t find a better placed person then Koen to ask this.

His article writes about:

.Introduction to this problem
.Little description of the stiffle joint of the dog
.Diagnosis
.Treatment(3 different ways)
.Techniques TPLO and TTA , differences between these 2, advantages and disadvantages with both techniques
.Aftercare

Please feel free to ask your questions after reading his article.
Or if you have other questions around this topic, shoot!
I keep him posted about it.

I would be interested to know if a ligament gos when a dog is under a certain age is it hereditary, and if so what age would you expect it to have gone by if it was hereditary. The reason for this question is that I know of a dog that had both ligaments go by the age of fifteen months old.

I look forward to reading this article.

Hey, John,

I forwarded your question to Dr Koen Vandendriessche , but didn t receive answer yet.
As soon as I hear from him, I let you know.

I understand very well that it will be almost impossible for him to come on the forum, so busy.

The article, illustrated with excellent pictures is excellent but doesn t give you answer on your question.

Nice evening,

Kathleen.

Hey, Guy,

Well, I think that lot of people are interested to read more about this specific problem and I m sure they will like this article. Its excellent material.

So I was very happy with fact that Dr Koen Vandendriessche could find some" free" time to write down article for me about this problem in the Rottweiler to share with readers from the TRM.

Guy, I don t remember excactly anymore if you had something in your article for BRK about heredity, problem seen in some pedigrees/bloodlines and genetica?
If so maybe you can give your opinion, knowledge in answer to John?

Nice evening,

Kathleen.
