"Capturing the moments of today that will wow your heart tomorrow"
Passion - I have a huge passion for photographing animals and also capturing the special bond between us and our furry friends. My second passion is for my own breed, Rottweilers. I breed under the kennel name "Lunatix".
I love to travel the world and combine these two passions.

The next titles Heizelwood Winter and I are working towards is IGP1 and CDX. Both require dumbbells. CDX requires (1) down on recall, (2) retrieve over jump, (3) retrieve on flat, (4) broad jump, (5) hand signals from a distance (sit, stand & down), (6) long sit, (7) long down with handler out of sight & (8) free heeling. IGP1 obedience requires: (1) retrieve on flat, (2) retrieve over 4 foot jump, (3) scaling 6 foot wall, (4) send out, (5) sit out of motion, (6) down out of motion, (7) free heeling and (8) long down.
I do not want him to perceive the dumbbell as a prey object. I want him to perceive it as a dead object. Dumbbells are worth huge points in both schutzhund and CKC advanced obedience. If the dog chews or plays with the dumbbell then huge points are lost.
In schutzhund, there is what handlers call "the 3 second rule". Upon instruction from the judge, the dumbbell is thrown. The dog must wait a minimum of 3 seconds before leaving the handler's side and cannot leave early. Then the dog must go quickly to the dumbbell, pick it up and return to the handler sitting straight in front of the handler, and be holding the dumbbell without chewing. So I never want my dog to perceive the dumbbell as a toy. It is obedience and when the dog understands what the word "bring" means then the dog will search for an object to bring to the handler.

Winter and I also achieved highest qualifying score from Greater Victoria Dog Obedience Club as we also belong to that club. From that club, they gave him $30 cash prize plus a stuffed toy.
I am very happy with Winter because it was super nice feeling to win highest scoring member with a Rottweiler from two all-breed dog obedience clubs where Rottweilers seldom are seen entering in the obedience trials and seldom do they win high score at an all-breed dog obedience trial. I am going to see if I can have him ready for CDX (Companion Dog Excellent) by the fall.
We were entered in "B" class which is for experienced handlers who have titled dogs as they are graded harder than the regular class handlers/dogs.
So from the weekend Winter got 6x ribbons, 4x stuffed toys, a set of utility dumbbells and a middle size crate. Most important, Winter and I achieved the first of his CKC obedience titles. I believe the CD is the hardest title there is in CKC because so many people can enter with dogs not ready so with a Rottweiler the dog has to be more than ready. Some of the dogs in the trial were the size of Winter's head and I don't think he perceived them as dogs and thought of them more like walking stuffed toys but he had excellent manners, behaved himself and listened to me.
I imported Winter to Canada as an 8 week old puppy from Finland. He is linebred on Heizelwood Chiguita (mother to my past dog Heizelwood Ice, IPO3, FH2, AD, BH, Ztp, Show CH, Tracking CH, 2016 Universal Sieger. Winter is the youngest dog I have ever put titles on. Usually, I never attempt a BH until the dog is a minimum of 2 years old and on all past dogs who I have trialed in CKC obedience the dogs have been at IGP3 level before I enter them for CD as the dog must have a rock solid down and a rock solid sit. Winter will be 2 on June 30th.
Winter is now: Heizelwood Winter, BH, CD, NTD, BST, ADRK BSE, V3 Rated, V4 Rated, SG1 Rated, VP1 Rated (Heizelwood Red, HEJW-18 BISS/21 x Heizelwood Oma, FI CH, IFH1, HK2, BH). Bred by Theresia Vikstrom (Heizelwood Rottweilers) in co-operation with Marjo Järventölä.
